Sunscreen in winters with SkinLab

The days are short and the cold temperatures tell you the sun isn’t as strong. Do you really need to wear sunscreen in the winter? Definitely Yes.

UVB rays are weaker in the winter, so you don’t get sunburned as easily, but the UVA rays that cause wrinkles, premature aging and damage are just as strong, year ‘round! Because you aren’t getting burned as quickly, and because the warmth feels good on your skin, you aren’t seeking shade as often. Depending on your activities, you could actually do more damage in the winter than the summer!

We all love to hangout more in sun when it’s cold. Either in our open balconies or an outdoor café, we all like to chill (not literally) and have a good cup of coffee. At that particular moment, we do need to protect our skin and the best way is to get the right sunscreen for your face and exposed areas.

Now here are some of the clues you need to follow to pick the right sunscreen for yourself-

1.      A Sunscreen That Offers SPF 30 Protection Or Higher

Always check the SPF range mentioned on the sunscreen package. Anything above SPF 15 is considered decent protection. But if you want foolproof protection, go for a sunscreen offering SPF 30 or above. Skinlab’s sunscreen is perfect for my skin as it offer SPF 30.

2.      Always Choose a Creamy Sunscreen Instead of Spray Or Powder

Spray and powder sunscreens are mineral-based and contain nanoparticles that can enter the bloodstream and cause various health issues. Avoid such products and stick to cream-based sunscreens.

3.      Presence Of Titanium Dioxide Or Zinc Oxide

When checking the ingredient list, look for titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. These are ingredients added to the product for UV protection. This has been taken care by Skin Lab sunscreen as well.

4.      Water and Sweat Resistance

If you are going for a walk or to the beach, using a water and sweat-resistant sunscreen is a must. Even if we are out in the sun working and running around, we do need a water resistant sunscreen.

The SkinLab sunscreen not only offer comprehensive sun protection, it also features mulberry root extract and caffeine, which brighten and tighten skin. And the antioxidants help protect against future sun damage.

The Skinlab products are available at all their clinics situated in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Baroda, Raipur and Pune.
