Luckily in our country winters don’t strike as early as Europe. We do not have to worry about the layers and layers of sweaters and jackets. It’s almost December and we are still thankful to God for a pleasant weather and a bit of chill in the air. This season is all about light layering or taking out the pieces which are perfect for the early winters. Lot of us as always gets confused and choose the wrong outfits and go haywire. There are some pieces which surely is the right thing to sport in this season. Neither too bulky nor too light. It’s all about getting your layering act right. So just because the temperature is dipping doesn’t mean your style has to as well. These three different looks and three different key pieces will help you dress better and look hotter as it gets cold outside. A mini winter store is here.
Sweater Vest+ Formal Shirt
A combination which never fails, sleeveless sweaters and the formal shirt. A sweater vest is like a good old denim, always classic and goes with anything. We have seen different avatars of it, from pairing it with shirts and denims to polos and chinos; it’s versatile and a staple which you have to have in your wardrobe. For a bit of classic formal yet smart touch, pairing it with a colorful shirt is a perfect Friday look. The solid vests goes well with printed or striped shirts. Here I am wearing the same combo with a fitted formal trouser. To add on the Friday elements, a colorful sock with tan double monks is like what LBD and heels for women are.
2. Hoodie + Basic Tee
Athleisure might have killed sartorial etiquette, but it’s also saved your wallet. Layering a low-key hoodie – made from good-quality cotton or adding a sports feel with fabric like polyurethane, in a shade like blue or black – over a basic tee shirt is one of the easiest ways to nail sports-luxe. Let your trousers have the final say: tailored joggers keep a look on the sports track, but a pair of light distressed denims will also make it work. And finally a casual shoe to sum up this look.
3. Cable Knit Sweater
It’s stylish and always in demand. Be it any year, loose knits or closed knits will definitely be part of the trend list and a must have. The cable kint sweater has been around for a long time. The majority of these sweaters are made of wool but they may also be made of cotton and other fabrics. It’s thick cosy cable knit makes this piece so comfortable and everyone’s favorite in winters. You can wear it just like that or with a shirt underneath, it will work both ways. Pairing it with a breezy trouser and white sneakers for a casual day out.
So try these three different outfits, for different ocassions keeping in mind how to style these key pieces for early winters. There is more to come when it gets much colder and foggier how we all imagine the Indian winters. So stay tuned and keep yourself tucked in the right fashion. Till then, keep it warm
